TBA stands for "training better artists," and to meet our training goal, we offer classes for all ages. Our current offerings are below. For younger students, please check out our Spring Break Academy and Summer Academy.

Current Classes for Teens & Adults
Playwriting
Saturdays

Ages: 16 and up
Tuition: $60
Taught by Valdez Theatre Conference Play Lab Coordinator Ryan Buen and critically acclaimed playwright P. Shane Mitchell, this five-session class will focus on scene development and strong endings. Suitable for both the beginning and advanced playwright.

Acting Shakespeare Workshop

Tuition: $60
Find joy in Shakespeare’s language as Kevin Keith leads this workshop where scene work helps actors of all experience levels tackle the unique demands of this richly rewarding classical material. A great opportunity to become more comfortable with preparation for TBA’s upcoming Much Ado About Nothing.

Make Up for the Stage
Saturdays

Ages: 16 - Adult
Tuition: $60
A hands-on experience covering the basics of theatrical make-up application and the differences for working in intimate and large venues. A basic theatrical make-up kit is required for this class (Ben Nye or Mehron) including cream foundation, cream shadow and highlight, latex and stipple sponge applicators, cream or powder blush, liner, and powder brushes, eye pencils, loose powder, and puff. Additional supplies are welcome if you have them.

Script Cub is getting revved up again to examine five venerable, oft-performed shows of the theatre to examine what makes them important, popular, and marketable.
