Monologues for Young Actors

Ages 8-12

Join acclaimed actress, Morgan Mitchell, for a monologue workshop like no other. From characterization and vocal stylings to memorization techniques and confidence building, this is the perfect class for beginning actors and those wanting to brush up on their skills. This is a recommended class for students interested in our Summer Performing Arts Academy.

Dates: May 30 - June 20

Times: Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm

Ages 8-12

Physical Expression is an ACTIVE acting class for beginners and beyond. Multi award winning actress, Jessica Faust, will create a playful movement sequence, using techniques from yoga, dance, and theatrical styles around the world. Students will learn to connect to their bodies and engage them in storytelling. Jessica recommends setting up class in front of a big mirror, but it's not required.

Monologues for Teens

Ages 13-18

Get ready for that next audition and brush up on your skills with acclaimed actress, Morgan Mitchell. Work on characterizations, vocal skills and over coming your nerves. This is a great class for actors of all skill levels a recommended class for students interested in our Advanced Performing Arts Academy.

Dates: May 30 - June 20

Ages 13-Adult

Physical expression is an actor’s movement class for all levels of fitness as well as theatrical experience. Multi award winning actress, Jessica Faust, will lead you through a workout sequence to get out of your head and into character. There will be strength and flexibility, cardio, as well as voice and movement techniques derived from theatrical styles from around the world. It is recommended you use a yoga mat and a full length mirror, but it is not required.

Dates: May 30 - June 20

Ages 16-Adult

TBA's version of Book Club is like no book club you've ever been to before. Critically acclaimed artist, Wayne Mitchell will take you through a play a week, with essential Comedies every artist should know. This is a great way to explore scripts and have some laughs with a group of other artists. Plus, it's Wayne, so you know it's going to be an entertaining hour every Wednesday.

Dates: May 27-June 17

Times: Wednesdays from 7pm-8pm

Cost: Only $15 for all four weeks!

Ages 16-Adult

An entertaining and interactive look at the fundamentals of improv with Amy Kropp and Rich Capitan. Amy and Rich will lead students in lively discussions, fun exercises and online-appropriate games that will give you a solid understanding of the basics and beyond. Topics will include: Yes And, short form vs. long form improv, how to start a scene, character development, improvising on the internet, improv resources, and many more. Whether you’re looking for improv performance tips and tricks or just want to impress your friends with your vast improv knowledge during Zoom chats, we’ve got your back! All levels of improv experience are welcome!

Dates: May 26-June 16

Times: Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm

Ages 16 and up

In this adult oriented class, led by Valdez Last Frontier Theatre Conference panelists P. Shane Mitchell and Ryan Buen, students will study play form, including structure, format, dialogue, theatricality, plot, and other related dramaturgical issues as they specifically relate to writing plays. Students will have weekly writing assignments, working on their play.

Dates: May 18-June 15 (no class on May 25)

Times: Mondays from 7pm-8pm

Ages 16 to Adult

Taught by critcally acclaimed actor and director, Erin Dagon Mitchell, this course is designed to give students an overview of special effects make-up, from cuts and bruises, to zombies and terrifying monsters, plus proper safety and hygiene techniques.

Dates: May 26-June 16

Times: Tuesdays from 7:15pm-8:15pm

Location: In your own home via Zoom!

Cost: $60 for all four weeks

Materials Needed: 

- Crème or powder make up in the following colors; Bright red, dark red, yellow, green, blue, purple. (Additional colors helpful. Avoid heavy glitters or sparkles)
- Crème or liquid foundation in your skin tone
- Liquid Latex (Can be provided by TBA for an additional $5)
- Nose & Scar wax
- Foam sponge
- Stipple sponge
- Spirit Gum (optional)
- Make up or art brushes – at least 2 flat brushes.
**Those students who’ve previously purchased the Ben Nye Student Make-up Kit will have most everything above.

- Paper clip or safety pin
- Q-tips
- Tissue or toilet paper
- Hair dryer with a cool air setting
- Moisturizer
- Vaseline
- Make up remover or wipes

FOR BLOOD
- Corn syrup
- Red & Blue Food Coloring OR Black Cherry Kool Aid packet & Chocolate Syrup
- Clear bowl or pitcher to mix
- Sealable container to store
