Theatre Classes

TBA stands for "training better artists," and to meet that goal, we offer classes for all ages. Check out our current list and register today!

Ages 5-7

Use your voice, body and imagination to bring to life some of your favorite stories with long time youth arts educators Stephanie Leigh and Mo Garrigues! In each session, students will experience the world of acting and creation first hand, as they take on the adventures of the story of the week and work on a variety of projects to help bring them to life.  This class is sure to keep our youngest artists stimulated and ready to learn about the world of theatre.

 

Dates: January 11 - February 1

Times: Saturdays from 10:00-noon

Tuition: $100

This  Intro to Art class is led by scenic designer and arts educator, Rachael Androski, Students will use professional grade materials including charcoal, pastel, watercolor, ink, oil, acrylic, clay, metal and more.

Times: Saturdays from 10:00-noon

Tuition $120 (including materials)

Ages 12-18

You might just be your favorite stand up comedian! Workshop comedy material, overcome stage fright and better your comic writing skills as you turn your personal experiences into a gut busting routine, with instructor Billy Worthy.

Dates: January 11 - February 1

Times: Saturdays from 11:00am-12:00pm

Cost: $60 for all four weeks

Ages 8-12

Learn techniques used in character creation, world building, and performance with featured local artist Kaichen McRae.

A great class for a young person who may be new to the stage or those just considering it.

Full Length Playwriting (Session One)

Ages 16 and up

In this adult oriented class, led by Valdez Last Frontier Theatre Conference panelists P. Shane Mitchell and Ryan Buen, students will study the full length play form. There will be study in structure, format, dialogue, theatricality, plot, and other related dramaturgical issues as they specifically relate to ten minute plays. Students will have weekly writing assignments, working on their play. 

Dates: January 11 - February 1

Times: Saturdays from 12:15pm-1:45pm

Tuition: $60

Ages 16 to Adult

Taught by critcally acclaimed actor and director, Erin Dagon Mitchell, this course is designed to give students an overview of practical makeup techniques for the stage including highlight and shadow, blending, basic corrective, old age, cuts and bruises, and safety and hygiene. 

 

 

Dates: January 11 - February 1

Times: Saturdays from 2:00pm - 3:30pm

Tuition: $140 with Kit or $60 if you're providing your own materials (see below)

All students may wish to bring a small towel, wash cloth and preferred facial wash or make up remover.
